Flying Tips

What's your favorite flying tip?

If you're new to Nanosaur 2, the tilt mechanism for flying can seem really touchy and difficult at first, but stick with it for a little while, you'll get the hang of it soon!  Note also that you can adjust the Control Sensitivity with the slider on the Settings page; you may want to start out with a low-to-medium sensitivity (to the left) and then raise it later as you get better control of your flying (to the right).  Also once you start multi-player Battling, particularly in the tree-filled Cavern venue (my name for it anyway), you'll probably find yourself crashing into trees a lot until you once again step up your flying skill; be patient!

OK, here's my favorite Battle flying tip, inspired by Tom Cruise's character Maverick in the classic flying movie Top Gun (see 1:40 in the YouTube video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fGeiL1uhMxU (warning to the kids: there's a bit of salty language).  If another Nanosaur closes in on your tail, and you're confident that he doesn't have missiles, you can lure him in and then rapidly fly in a dolphin pattern (alternating a few steep climbs and dives); he'll probably fly right on past you and into your firing range.  A little bit of fun with Nanosaur flying physics.

Your turn to share!

This isn't really a "tactical" move, but it looks really cool  ;D ... till you crash  :(
Basically, you charge on jetpack and spin side-to-side firing every weapon you have until you collide with a mine and go kaboom.
It's really cool lookin, but not recommended if you're worried about lives.

OK, another tip for the week.  Hope others will post too!

An excellent way to slow your forward momentum is to make a sudden left or right turn, particularly when coming out of jet speed.  In multi-player Battle mode, in the Forest battlefield, with a bit of practice you can use this technique to do a tight 180-degree turn at the powerups to get three of the same kind in a row, rather than just flying straight through a single one at a time (or trying to line up perfectly to get two at once with your wingtips).  In the Cavern battlefield, again with a bit of practice you can slalom through all three powerups in the center (health, missile, health).
