Rip On Other Players Here / Re: Pictures and names off while playing

Yeah, I actually started at day one w/pictures off b/c, although I think it's the pictures isa really cool feature, I just discovered I didn't like the little squares flying all over the screen—it just felt like it took something away from the graphics & the game by giving it a slight cheese factor w/those pictures floating around that I didn't feel w/them off. There have been a few times where I've wished I knew for sure who was who in a game, but I can't say that happens often or that it ever really matters. On the rare occasions when it does, I just quick pause & go to settings & turn pictures on, then right back off after I figure out who is who (I've probably felt the need to do that about a dozen or so times). Then, of course, since I don't use pictures on i figured I ought not fly w/an avatar myself, either. I was really glad Brin added the final screen of info so I could then know who was who in case someone was up to any kind of douchebaggery during the match, since before that it was impossible to know.
I have to admit I've never related to nor understood all the little tiffs people have about not playing w/a certain forum standard of wing waves & all the other things that have evolved b/c it was never possible for me to be involved I'm any of it, & I was always glad for that. None of this is to say I care about how people fly or meet up & hang out & play randomly in matches pictures or not, none of the preferences bother me, I just prefer my own preferences . . . .
